The application guidelines for those applying to the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences for 2014 October enrollment with funding from the China Scholarship Council has been open. A complete set of application forms must arrive in the International Liaison Office no later than December 20, 2013.

The 2014 AY policies of the University of Tokyo are:
Only students from 60 of universities in China listed here are eligible to apply for doctoral course.
Only students from 10 of universities in China listed here are eligible to apply for a research student status with which students do not intend to proceed to a degree course.
Students are not allowed to apply for master courses.
4) Todai-IIT Graduate Student Scholarship Program
The University of Tokyo (UT) has a scholarship program, which is called “Todai-IIT Graduate Student Scholarship Program” through which graduate schools in UT accepts students from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) who wish to study on master’s and/or doctoral programs at UT. The program provides a scholarship during the period of study at UT and aims to educate leading individuals who will lay the foundations of a future network between India and Japan. Students currently enrolled in the following five schools of IIT are eligible:

5) Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP)
In this category, students apply to the University first; and after the University’s assessment, the University will recommend successful applicants to ADB-JSP as qualified scholarship candidates. In GSFS, only the Division of Environmental Studies and GPSS have been designated by ADB to receive an allocation with the ADB scholarship.
Note that only October is the enrollment timing under this scholarship scheme
This international graduate program was established in 2000 and currently offers approximately 40 courses conducted in English. International students can start their study as soon as they enroll in the program, and can take courses in English and write their thesis in English. The screening method is a review of application documents. Graduate degrees offered in the program are:

1) For degrees of Environmental Studies and International Studies
Applicants for a master's program must hold a bachelor degree from an accredited educational institution comparable to bachelor's degree offered at the University of Tokyo. Applicants for a doctoral program must hold a master's degree or other equivalent degree comparable to that offered by the University of Tokyo.
Applications must arrive at the International Liaison Office no later than December 10th of the preceding year to which applicants wish to enroll.

@(2) Official Academic Transcript or attested photocopy from the institute you previously attended.
This document must be translated to English unless it is in Japanese. Those applying for a PhD program must also include your academic transcript from your bachelor's degree studies.
@(3) Official certificate of degree or attested photocopy of your diploma.
