For Job Hunting

International students who wish to remain in Japan and seek employment after completing their course of studies at graduate school must apply for a change of status of residence from “college student” to “for designated activities”. This status of residence has a six-month period of stay and may be renewed one time, making it possible to remain in Japan for up to one year after graduation. Change of Visa Status Request must be accompanied with a letter of Recommendation of the Dean of GSFS. (Students Affairs Section handles the procedures.) To get a recommendation letter, you must submit a request form, which is available at the Students Affairs Section. You can either pick up it by yourself or contact them by e-mail.

Notice:
This system does not apply to research students or students who withdrew from school.
