Degree-Seeking students

1. Applying for Admission

The Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS) holds entrance examinations twice a year, in summer and winter. Students select a desired faculty member and department, who will provide research guidance during their program, and take the entrance examination conducted by that department. Some departments and programs hold the entrance examination only once a year.

Please check the details about the entrance examination here.

2. Applying for Admission with Scholarship Programs

GSFS and The University of Tokyo have collaborated with some scholarship programs in which applicants will know a scholarship grant result prior to an admission result. ILO strongly recommend that you first seek the best scholarship program for yourself before or at the time of admission application so that you don’t have to look for financial aid after enrollment. Scholarship programs applicable after enrollment are limited, especially it is very hard for master course students to get one. Available scholarship programs vary depending on department you are applying.

Please check the details on Admission with Scholarship Programs here.
