Japanese Classes on Kashiwa campus

** Japanese Language Course is now accepting registration for 2021 Winter term.
** All courses will be offered online.

The Graduate School of Frontier Sciences provides Japanese language courses for the GSFS registered students, researchers who work on the Kashiwa campus, and their family members.

Please note that you cannot get credits from taking our Japanese classes.
Also our Japanese classes are NOT designed for those who aim to enroll in higher educational institutions in Japan.

1. Eligibility

Eligibility Students, Researchers & their Family members on Kashiwa campus.
Place Environment Building 1st Floor, Room 114 & 116

All classes in Winter term 2021 are online.

Period Summer term: April – July
Winter term : October – February
How to apply Apply through the Online Registration System, referring to Course Descriptions and Syllabus below.

You are welcome to try out classes and take more than one courses simultaneously. Please discuss any questions you may have with the instructors before or after the class, or send an inquiry by email.

* The schedule may change depending on the number of students and their levels.


Texts used in the classes are “Marugoto” series. For details, please see the Syllabus.

Samples of the course books “Marugoto” can be viewed from this Site:

Digital versions for all the levels are now available (except for in China).

You can download materials for use with Marugoto, such as audio recordings and vocabulary lists.
Login is required to download audio recordings.

Marugoto also supports learning through e-learning. By using e-learning with Marugoto, you will be able to learn more effectively and develop your learning more broadly and profoundly (for A1 and A2).


3. Registration

After completing online registration, a confirmation email will be sent to you. You can change your registered classes or personal information from the link in the email. Please keep this confirmation email until the semester ends.
