The Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS) is an independent school for master’s and doctoral students that was established through comprehensive cooperation of all existing departments of The University of Tokyo. GSFS consists of three divisions: Transdisciplinary Science, Biosciences, Environmental Studies, and one department of Computational Biology. GSFS is located in the Kashiwa campus, which is 30 km northeast of Tokyo.
The University of Tokyo has three campuses.
The Hongo campus undertakes education and research in traditional disciplines at the second half of undergraduate level, and postgraduate levels.
The Komaba campus is the base for the first half of undergraduate studies, and postgraduate levels in the specified areas.
The Kashiwa campus pursues intellectual adventure and creation of new academic fields through graduate level education and research.
