The Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS) provides its international students with the Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship, which is supported by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO).
Those who would like to apply must submit the required application documents at the same time as applying for entrance examination.
The result will be notified to all successful candidates of the respective entrance examination, which should be after enrollment. Then they will be officially nominated to JASSO from the University of Tokyo.
Those who are applying for admission to a master or doctoral course of GSFS, will sit for the entrance examination from overseas countries without coming to Japan until enrollment. They must hold a status of eligibility, “college student (留学ryuugaku)” by the time they enroll in GSFS.
Some of GSFS departments conduct their examinations online due to the covid-19 spread. Those who will take those online examinations are eligible to apply.
Applicants also need to meet all eligibility criteria stated in the guidelines.
